After breakfast visit the monasteries of Shey, Thiksey, and Hemis.
Shey:: It was the ancient capital of Ladakh and even after Singge Namgyal built the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued to regard Shey, as their real home. The importance which was attached to Shey - the seat of Ladakh's heartland - is attested by the enormous number of Chorten about the village, particularly around the palace complex and barren plain to the north of the road.
Thiksey:is one of the largest and most impressive Gompas. There are several temples in this Gompa containing images, stupas and exquisite wall paintings. It also houses a two - storied statue of Buddha which has the main prayer hall around its shoulder.
Hemis: which is dedicated to Padmasambhava, what a visitor can observes a series of scenes in which the lamas, robed in gowns of rich, brightly colored brocade and sporting masks sometimes bizarrely hideous, parade in solemn dance and mime around the huge flag pole in the center of the courtyard to the plaintive melody of the Shawn. Morning drive to Spituk Gompa which was built 500 years ago. Spituk Monastery perched on a hill overlooking the Indus River. The monastery houses a vast collection of Buddhist artifacts. Spituk also famous in the world for its Spituk festival. The trek begins at Spituk by crossing the bridge on foot and west of the Indus River. We follow the path of 3 hours until Indus river enters a narrow gorge at its confluence with the Zinchen. From here, it is a gradual ascent through the Zinchen Valley, before reaching the small village of Zinchen. Zinchen a beautiful village located on the slopes of Stok The range and the village serves as an entrance to the Hemis National Park
A gradual ascent followed by a steep climb leads to Ganda La. From the pass, the snow-capped mountains that come together in distant parts of the Karakorum are treated to fine views. The trail descends steadily to Shingo, the head of the Skiu valley and continues down into the village of Skiu. You enter the village in front of impressive rocky walls.
The path to Markha is not too tiring. Markha is a significant village, with a fort on the hill and a small village monastery. En route you pass through several monasteries perched on the hills and the path dotted with Chortens and prayer walls. You reach camping beyond the village and near the river.
Start the trek in the morning to reach Tchatchutse via Hankar village. Tchatchutse a very popular place to spot herds of blue sheep walking up and down the steep cliffs with incredible rapidity.
You pass several mani walls and you come across a small lake. Here, you can get the beautiful view of the bulk of KangYatze being reflected in the calm waters of the lake. A gradual descent leads to the Nimaling, which is a flat-bottomed valley. Nimaling has a wide pasture where thousands of sheep, goats and yaks graze during the summer months and has a semi-permanent population of villagers who come to graze their livestock on summer pastures.
Start the trek to reach Kongmaru La (5100 m). The trekking in Kongmaru Crosses it through narrow gorges. From the top of the pass, it is possible to have a view of Ladakh spaces and the view of the villages to the north of the valley of the excellent Indus. Go through the passage and proceed to the Shang.
Today, trekking starts from the riverbed, walking along the creek to the Hemis monastery, which is one of the oldest and richest monasteries in Ladakh. Visit Hemis monastery and drive to Leh, en route visit Thiksey Monastery. Hemis monastery is the oldest and most important monastery in the Ladakh region. The walls of the monastery are decorated with paintings by Shakyamuni and the historical Buddha. The ts'ogs-Khang houses a huge golden image of the Sakyamuni Buddha with blue hair. The monastery also famous in the world for its Hemis festival. Also visit Thiksey monastery, perched on a hill above the Indus, has the largest contingent of monks in Ladakh. It is the most beautiful monastery in the Ladakh region. The high monastery houses a Buddhist statue, the largest statue in the Ladakh region. It is also the depository of numerous Buddhist volumes. Then drive to Leh.
Route :Leh – Tsomoriri

Morning after breakfast, drive to Tsomoriri. You along the Indus River up to Mahe Bridge. On the way you can see many beautiful villages of Changthang valley, Hot Sulphur Spring at Chumathang and many Nomadic Camps with their domestic animals like Pashmina Goats, Yaks and Sheeps. The Tsomoriri Lake is 23 km long and 10-15 km wide and the panoramic view of the Lake is amazing with Turquoise coloured water.Overnight stay at Camp in Tsomnoriri.

In the morning after breakfast at the camp explore the Village & Monastery of Karzok, which is the main Village of Tsomoriri in the Rupshu Plateau.. Korzok is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery belonging to the Drukpa Lineage and ancient village on the western bank of Tsomoriri Lake in Leh District, Ladakh, India. Korzok, situated at 4,595 metres (15,075 ft), houses a Sakyamuni Buddha and other statues. It is home to about 35 monks. In the past, the monastery was the headquarters of the Rupshu Valley. As a Drugpa order monastery, it was under the authority of the Hemis monastery. Two or four monks were assigned to run the monastery. Post Lunch; Explore the surroundings of Tsomoriri Lake. Wildlife as Kiang, “The Tibetan Wild Ass” and occasionally visible Snow Leopard are found here. Rare and exotic birds as Bar headed Goose. After leisurely breakfast walk around the lake and drive to Mahe village, a picturesque village with spurting fountain and white clouds hanging upon. From there, you will proceed towards Puga Valley, famous for Butan gas. Thereafter, you will continue towards Tsokar via Polokongka pass (at 13500 ft.). After visiting the Tsokar Lake, you can also see Thugke gomp. The place is quite known for wild Asses, seen grazing and moving in flocks. From here, you will drive towards Leh. On the way, you will stop to Tanglangla pass, the second highest motorable pass in the world at 5350 m. after, arriving in Leh; you will retire to your hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel at Leh.
Route :Leh – Uleytopko

After early breakfast rive towards Uleytokpo, en route visit Likir & Alchi Monastery & Rizong. Visit the village of Nimo and stop for photo session at confluence of river Zanskar& Indus and then proceed further to visit Likir. Likir is situated in a side valley about 05 Kms from main Srinagar - Leh highway. Likir belongs to Ge-Lung-Pa sect; the monastery also maintains and runs a school for young Lamas. After visit drive 20 Kms to Uleytokpo for stay in the Cottages/ Huts. Afternoon, drive to visit Alchi Monastery, it was founded in the 11th century by Rinchen Zangpo the Great Translator; it was richly decorated by artist from Kashmir and Tibet. Paintings of the Mandala’s which have deep Tantric significances are particularly fine; some decorations are reminiscent of Byzantine art. The monastery is maintained by monks from Likir and is no longer a place for active worship. On the return Drive to Rizong Gompa. It involves 7 Kms of driving to reach the main Gompa. Rizong is among few monasteries in Ladakh which houses women monks called “Chomos”. Its small Gompa situated deep inside a narrow valley. Overnight stay in Huts at Uleytokpo.
Route :Uleytokpo – Lamayuru – Leh

Morning after breakfast leave for Lamayuru at a distance of 55 Kms from Uleytokpo , the 11th century Lamayuru Monastery, one of the earliest seats of lamaistic learning and most picturesque monastery in Ladakh. The Lamayuru" Yungdrung" Gompa is remarkably built on a rock, around 125kms, west of Leh, on the Leh Srinagar highway. Lamayuru belongs to the Dringungpa order of Tibetan Buddhism. The history of the monastery begins with the visit of Arahat Nimagung to this place, when there was merely a lake here. It is said that Arahat made a prophecy that "a monastery will come up at this spot" and he made offerings (prayer with grains of corn) to the Nag serpent spirits. The corns mixed with the earth and formed in the shape of Swastika (Yungdrung), later it came to be known as Yungdrung Monastery. The Great Translator Rinchen Zangpo constructed a temple here in eleventh century. Naropa also visited Lamayuru and meditated here. Gelukpa or Kadampa school of Tibetan Buddhism initially looked after by Lamayuru, but later; it was taken over by Dringungpa Order. After lunch, drive back to Leh on the same route.
